Warranty Coverage
Materials
IQ Auto Glass ™ will repair or replace any defective material within 30 days of the service completion date, except for OEM parts, used parts, and tempered glass.
Please note that we do not install parts sourced or provided by customers.
Workmanship
IQ Auto Glass ™ provides a lifetime warranty under the following condition:
1. Water Leak Coverage: Valid for the duration of vehicle ownership or lease by the original customer. This warranty is non-transferable and is only applicable in the state of California.
Chip Repair
Disclosure:
- There’s a 1% chance the crack may worsen during repair due to factors beyond our control, such as the chip’s stability and internal glass stress. In addition, the repair process requires the application of pressure to inject resin into the damaged area. This pressure may unintentionally cause the crack to expand, especially if the damage contains stress veins. IQ Auto Glass is not liable if the windshield cracks during the procedure or for any related replacement costs.
- Repairs improve strength and clarity but may leave a cosmetic mark and slight distortion. A full visual restoration is not guaranteed.
Warranty:
If the chip repair fails in the same exact location in the future, the amount paid for the repair will be credited toward a full windshield replacement completed by IQ Auto Glass. This credit applies only to the portion of the windshield where the original repair was performed. This offer is valid only in California and remains in effect for as long as you own the vehicle.
Windshield Forward-Facing Camera Recalibration
What We Provide
Our Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) recalibration service ensures the precise alignment and functionality of safety features, including Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, and more. We use specialized equipment, software, and manufacturer-specific procedures—including static, dynamic, or combined calibration methods—to accurately align and test all relevant sensors and cameras for optimal system performance.
Disclosures
- Existing Fault Code
If any existing fault codes are detected either on the dashboard or in the pre-scan report during diagnosis, IQ Auto Glass will be unable to proceed with the recalibration. In such cases, we recommend having the issue addressed by your vehicle’s dealership.
- Camera System Only
IQ Auto Glass specializes in recalibrating the forward-facing camera located in the windshield, which supports key ADAS features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, and Lane Centering Assist. These systems rely solely on the windshield-mounted camera, and our calibration services ensure their accurate functionality.
- Please note: IQ Auto Glass does not calibrate or assume responsibility for any ADAS components or systems that rely on radar (e.g., Forward Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control) or LiDAR (e.g., Pedestrian Detection), or any sensors located outside of the windshield area.
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are support features only and do not replace driver responsibility. Furthermore, the LKAS/LDWS/LCA may not detect all lane markings. Accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and road condition. It is always the driver’s duty to remain alert and maintain full control of the vehicle. Following recalibration, all ADAS features are reset to the manufacturer’s default settings. For detailed information on system functions, settings, and limitations, please refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
Warranty
The recalibration is covered for one year or until the next windshield replacement—whichever recalibration event occurs first.
Both the vehicle manufacturer and the Auto Glass Safety Council highlight that certain events—such as collisions, severe weather conditions (e.g., fog, mud, snow), extreme vehicle use (e.g., off-roading), or damage from poor road conditions (e.g., potholes)—can disturb the ADAS sensors. Additionally, various vehicle repairs, including wheel alignments, suspension work, tire size changes, car roof repairs, and especially windshield replacement, may disrupt ADAS sensors and require recalibration.
IQ Auto Glass guarantees recalibration only when sensor disturbance is directly related to a windshield replacement service performed by us. If sensor misalignment or system malfunction occurs due to non-windshield replacement related events or services not performed by IQ Auto Glass, we cannot be held responsible for the recalibration.
Used Parts
In situations where OEM or aftermarket parts are on backorder or discontinued, and with the customer’s approval, IQ Auto Glass may use good condition used parts. This option applies only to door windows, vent glass, quarter glass, sunroof glass, back glass and side mirrors. We do not allow the use of used windshields. We strongly recommend customers inspect all used parts prior to installation and verify proper functionality after the service is completed.
Tempered Glass Replacement
Definition:
Tempered glass is a type of safety glass that undergoes controlled thermal or chemical treatments to significantly increase its strength compared to standard glass. It is specifically designed for areas requiring enhanced durability, safety, and resistance to thermal stress.
Warranty:
IQ Auto Glass does not offer a warranty on tempered glass if it breaks or shatters after installation and once the vehicle has left the facility as it is four times stronger than regular glass and is engineered to withstand substantial impact and extreme temperature changes. When breakage occurs, it is typically the result of a strong impact or abrupt thermal shock. Tempered glass does not spontaneously shatter without cause.
If the glass remains intact and a workmanship issue is suspected, please refer to the Warranty Claim Requirements for further instructions. All claims are subject to approval by our Warranty Department.
Exclusions
- Defective Glass or Materials – Customers must notify IQ Auto Glass™ of any defects within 30 days of discovering the issue. This warranty does not apply to OEM, used parts, or tempered glass. IQ Auto Glass™ is not responsible for any defects reported after the warranty period has expired.
- Water Leakage – IQ Auto Glass™ provides a lifetime warranty against water leakage for as long as you own the vehicle. This warranty is non-transferable and becomes void upon change of ownership. It is valid only within the state of California.
- Damage Resulting from Accidents – The warranty does not cover any damage caused by accidents, including but not limited to auto collisions, impact from road debris, and rock chips.
- Pre-Existing Rust Prior to Replacement – IQ Auto Glass™ does not provide warranty coverage for any issues arising from rust that existed prior to the glass replacement, including but not limited to leaks, wind noise, or stress cracks. Our technicians will make reasonable efforts to inform you of any visible rust prior to removing the existing glass.Customers are responsible for all costs associated with rust removal, treatment, and restoration of the pinchweld area. This includes any necessary transportation of the vehicle to and from a body shop. Please be aware that even after treatment, rust may continue to spread over time, potentially resulting in future leaks. In such cases, the windshield may need to be removed again and the vehicle returned to a body shop for further repairs at the customer’s expense.
- Pre-Existing Vehicle Damage – Prior to installation, IQ Auto Glass™ technicians perform a visual inspection of the vehicle and make reasonable efforts to communicate any noticeable damage. However, certain pre-existing issues—such as rust, damage to the pinchweld or frame, missing parts, scratches, dents (interior or exterior), or adhesive failure—may only become visible once the glass is removed.IQ Auto Glass™ is not responsible for such pre-existing conditions, and you will be liable for any additional costs required to repair these issues to ensure a safe and proper installation.
- Stress Cracks (No Point of Impact) – Stress cracks that originate from the edge of the glass without any visible point of impact are not covered under warranty. These cracks can result from factors such as extreme temperature fluctuations, structural stress, or vehicle vibrations. Due to the inherent fragility of auto glass, such damage can occur even under normal driving conditions.
- Tempered Glass – IQ Auto Glass™ does not provide warranty coverage for tempered glass that shatters or breaks after installation and once the vehicle has left our facility. However, if the glass remains intact and a defect in workmanship is suspected, the customer must schedule an inspection for evaluation. All claims related to workmanship must be reviewed and verified by an IQ Auto Glass™ technician.
- Limited Coverage – The warranty applies only in California. When the issue occurs out of state or the customer relocated out of CA, IQ Auto Glass will not be held responsible and will automatically void the warranty.
IQ Auto Glass ™ will not be held liable and will expressly exclude the coverage under this warranty for any damage not resulting and not proven from a defect in workmanship or materials.
No other warranty, neither express nor implied, applies.
